I bought some star moss over the internet and it arrived today. Don't know what I expected but this wasn't it! A 3x3 square turned out to be a 3x3 mess of tiny bits! Nothing solid enough or big enough to tie down to a rock or log.
I'm going to ask for my money back but would love any thoughts you might have as to how to salvage this before I dump it.
Thanks!

You might try to put it all in a media bag and put it close to the light. It will grow together hopefully.

Star moss will not grow underwater. It will survive for awhile but it will eventually rot and die just like mondo grass or other fake aquatic plants. You can try growing what you got in a terrarium but not underwater.
I'm guessing you bought this from Aquatic Magic. The last time I bought something from them (and by last time I mean I will never do it again) it took six months for them to finally send me my correct order. Good luck getting your money back. :o

Yes, it was Aquatic Magic that I bought from (in Malaysia) but they wrote me within 24 hours offering a refund or exchange, my choice. I exchanged it for another type of moss and it is on it's way. I'm thinking Star Moss does not travel well?
BTW, I bought some Flame Moss from them as well and it was in great condition when it arrived and I am very pleased with it.
