Hi all!

Found a card to this site at a store in the Garden Ridge mall in Plano last week. I think I am gonna like it here! I have been a fishkeeper on and off since I was about 9 y.o. My Grandpa got me into it. :)

Right now I am starting up the hobby again with a 29 gal. Currently its residents are 1 green cory, 1 black skirt, 6 neons, 2 siamese algae eaters, and 5 Rio tetras. I just love seeing the little guys school around the place!

I have a serious case of the 'new aquarium' fever and am hoping in the very near future to get a much larger tank to house some new family members. :D Not sure if it will be a fresh or salt water enviro as yet.

I do have one question. I live in a small town northeast of Denton. Not had much luck in finding any good places for stock here. The big chains are so boring and so clueless! Looking for some recommendations on some good stores to scope out. Preferrably around here, but looks like Plano is the nearest best bet for variety of stores that AREN'T the big chains like Pet** and Pets****.

Lookin forward to relearning this stuff and sharing! :D

Welcome!!! You came to the right place. Someone always has the answers to questions and if not, we all learn. Pull up a chair, get your favorite beverage, and prepare yourself for the ride of your life!!!

We understand MTS (Multiple Tank Syndrome). I have a 135g with mostly mollies, swords, and platies and I started a 10g "nursery" tank to house the little ones. I'm hoping to talk hubby into letting me get another large tank one of these days. Can never have too many tanks!

Hey there! Welcome!

Multiple tank Syndrome can sometimes get out of hand. I have two tanks, 1- 150 gallon and 1 - 30 gallon, and still looking for a 3rd.

Welcome!! Thrilled to see the business cards on the counters are working!

There are a couple members in your neck of the woods that can point you to the local fish shops (lfs). USA is a good one and we have another local favorite down here in Richardson (Just For Pets)- they rock!! The owners, Ritchie and Canh are super cool and can tell you if they can order particular species that you might be looking for.

The For Sale and free board are also good sources- lots of good folks with a wide variety of fish to sell/give.

I'm sorry in advance for the hijacked threads- we're like a big dinner table around here, conversations break out all over the place. :hehe: But feel free to ask any questions and read all you can- there's some great information to be had!!

Welcome!

Depends...do you have enough money set aside for a deposit on an apartment?

There is a fish store in Denton on 380. Fish and Chirps (the owner is a jerk [personal opinion] but they have good fish.
