I'd be a little worried about a used liner, but if they're new that might be the way to go.

100' roll x 20' wide.
The thickness is the options I'm looking into. 20mils minimum, but depending on prices I'd prefer 30+ ;).
Thanks everyone for trying to help!

Thanks Grant it was creative water gardens, Dickinson is in Mesquite and I did not care much for it.I agree with Fishdaddy go with the thicker liner. The 20mil does not last very long until you start getting leaks and once your all set up changing it or finding a leak is a royal pain in the ass

All 45 mil
Use 45 mil rubber (Firestone)--don't go cheaper/thinner as you'll regret it. Find yourself some used carpet to go under the liner to prevent punctures from stones/tree roots/etc.

Theres a place called Barnsco that sells that poly liner by the roll in varying thickness. At one time I was a materials purchaser for a local Excavation company and we used to buy tons of that stuff from them. Dunno if they sell to the public but if I remember right the rolls werent all that expensive.

LOL, this listing is for a friend afraid to spend an extra buck on something with some thickness (and warranty). :)
I'll go with the Firestone 45mil with 20 year warranty when I buy mine ;).
Dickinson came back with the highest quote. It's cheaper to order it online with shipping than get it from them.
Is no one going to ask . . . .? Where are you putting this monster?
LOL, this listing is for a friend. I'm working on buying a tractor before I can move forward with my pond plans.
I'm going to actually build a tank (a.k.a. round pond) with a liner in the bottom and several ponds, but I need some heavy duty equipment to dig within my soil, so going to save up instead of rent ;).
I'm hoping the tank will be some where in the 30'x30'x10-12' (or 50x50x10-12' if possible). Then I'll have the other ponds around the patio (here (http://www.dfwfishbox.com/forums/production/showthread.php?t=12039) ;)). GF wants another pond/fountain around the entry way, too :woohoo:, but I'm thinking she wants more of a planter, but I'll design a planter/water fall
By the time it's all done, I'll need to buy Firestone stock :D.
He wants us to ask.You are supposed to pretend like you don't want to know.I want to wait for the pictures.Anybody can talk big.
I'll get some pics of my friend's pond (been sitting without a liner for a few years now).
It's about 20'x60+' and he normally buys the 100' roll and double overs the majority of it (which is another reason he's going 20 mil, which I keep trying to get him to spend the extra money on a 40+ mil liner instead).
But you're correct, talk is cheap and internet talk is cheaper. All my "plans" seem to get going then grind to a stretching halt because I need bigger equipment :D.

All 45 mil
That's the problem though... need 20' x 100', and this guy is cheap!!!!
I think the stuff he's used previously was from Lowes/HD @ 20 mils.
Use 45 mil rubber (Firestone)--don't go cheaper/thinner as you'll regret it. Find yourself some used carpet to go under the liner to prevent punctures from stones/tree roots/etc.
Yeah, used carpet is a must for me, and I'm pretty sure I have my friend tolked into it as well.
His problem are all the stray dogs jumping in during the summer. I told him my 22 rifle would solve that ;).
We will be replacing all the carpet in our offices at work in the next two weeks. In W'ford.
Save some for me?

I don't think "tarps" are 100% water proof. And tarps will have to be ordered with UV protection (extra $$$).
But that's still not a bad price for the size. Might work as something cheap between the actual liner and the raw dirt ;). Nice source.
Seems I need to read up on their website to see if they'd work for the actual liner :D.
My condolences to your girlfriend! :muahaha:

Customers include farmers, contractors, lumber yards, commercial pond builders, steel mills, government agencies, schools, storage facilities, marinas, and many more.
Others use them for pond liners, to cover houses and barns under repair, or to serve as wind/vapor barriers

Yeah the more I read the more "water proof" and "UV protection" popped out at me. But it's only 20mils (probably exactly what he's looking for).
Nice size stream/pond. Hope the Little Tikes car isn't going to be a permanent water feature ;):D
 Me either!
I think the closest side is about 20' wide and 30"-36" deep. The far side is about 15' wide by 18"-24". There was a bridge that went across near the middle, but it's toast. Hopefully it'll be back to it's former glory soon.

45 mil is ideal. 36 should be minimum. creative water gardens in garland sells what ever size you need.
