nothing smaller than a 55, min recommended number is 15, high flow rate, sand substrate, rock piles kept a good distance apart, have Metro or clout on hand, add all fish at same time, lighting your preference.

Weekly water change of at least 30% but I do 50%
Make sure water parameters are stable.....I keep mine at 8.2pH, 15dKH, 13dCH
Keep Nitrates low when possible...avoid high....past 80ppm
Water circulation...at least 10x turnover rate
Lots of surface agitation or wet/dry to keep the oxygen content high or the co2 exchange going.
Stability.
DO NOT OVERFEED!
Keep in colonies...the more the merrier
Lighting, I like to use what makes them look good and at the same time enough to grow some algae in the tank.
Do lots of Research before buying! make sure you are well prepared to keep up with them.
I like lots of filtration...more then one means that if one fails you still have another. I run a 400g rated wet/dry, Eheim 2228, Rena XP3.
Filter media really doesn't matter as much as long as you keep up with it...I use either sintered glass rings or Eheim ehfisubstrat pro.
