Baby shrimp are very tiny, will that filter in the corner suck them in it? Most powered filters will need something over the intake to avoid this.

They can get suck into it but they have a higher survival rate than a hob filter as the internal filter's impeller is at the top, water get sucked into the vent on the side and go thru the foam pads and what not in there before getting suck thru the impeller and out of the filter.

You can buy them from Greenisgood at theplantedtank.com forum.

I've used the blue filter material or H.O.T. foam sleaves to prevent small creatures from getting in the filters. Just rubber band it around the intake and no worries.
Nice setup and great pics. :)
My oscars liked the pics so much they asked if they can come over and play. No worries, I told them to hush!

I might do that if they get sucked up, but I hate those filter sleeve because they're such an eye sore.
The flame moss I bought a long time ago from a forum member off of the Aquariacentral.com site.
I'll have picture of the blue tigers once they arrived, maybe tomorrow or Thursday.

To each his own, and I like the way you think. roflmao
I can add Yellow Shrimps, but I already have Red Cherries in the tank - both of which would interbreed. If I can find Yellow, Snowballs, or any other Neocardina species I might take out the RCS. Also, I would be selling these Blue Tiger Shrimps once I can double my stock. So far so good, as one of the larger and darker Blue Tiger molted. I think they're pigging out on all of that mulm I squeezed from my other sponge filter into this tank.

I was just say slip some black panty hose over it instead of filter sleeve, since he doesn't like the eyesore.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh... I tried that once and was constantly messing with the hose since it becomes clogged easily. That's when I started using the filter material.
Forget cherry shrimp, I want these guys!
Heading to planted tank to check out pricing...

i didnt know much about shrimp, but i just did some reading and found that neocardina species will interbreed. so im definitely wanting some tigers to put in with my cherries, instead of yellows.
