I finally got something other that BN's to spawn. Found 10 eggs kicked out of a cave. I thought the parents were way to young and small to spawn. I had 3 make it. The eggs were a lot bigger than BN's and not as yellow. The fry a huge compared to the BN babies. A male has another female trapped in his cave now so maybe more are on the way. Still waiting on the L129 and L270's.

The female was gone from his cave this morning and he is sitting on a batch of eggs. Can't see how many yet, he was really covering them up. I don't want ot bother him too much so he won't kick them out again. He can do a much better job hatching them than me.

Awesome news to hear!

How long have you been trying to get these guys to breed?

I got these and the L129's in the spring at about 2", got 10 of each. They may be 3" now. I really didn't think they were old enough to start breeding yet. I got the L270's as adults and have had them for about a year, still no fry. I have 6 of them. I have tried cold water changes, no water changes... and haven't gotten anything. They are big and fat so I guess it could happen at any time.

Dad is still fanning his eggs, looks to be 15 or so. They should be hatching any day. The 3 fry from the last batch have almost consumed their yolk sack, I will move them to a tank with some tiny petricola fry in a day or so. They are twice as big at thsi stage then BN fry, close to 1/2".
