Hi fellow members. These are a few shots of my moss collection:

Flame moss is unique with it's upstanding pattern.

This is one of my recent experiments, attaching it to a plastic mesh.

Another strain of moss with altering patterns.

Awesome! I have several of those mosses, but I've lost track of which is which, and which is in which tank. Mine are a mess! I need a consultant!
The only ones I'm sure about are flame moss and subwassertang, and I think I know which one is fissidens.

Very, very, nice. I do like the mosses not only for the color but they are delicate and add a softer touch to the tank. Thanks for sharing...

Very nice! I can't tell one moss from another, but like the effect they have in tanks.
Your yellow shrimp are very nice too. What do you feed them? I've got some but they aren't that yellow.

Definitely some good looking moss you have growing there!
How long did it take each to reach the growth within the pic?
Do you add ferts (specifically for the moss not plants)? What size tank with which lighting combo? How long are your lights on per 24 hour period?
I love how versatile moss can be. Background plant (wall), foreground plant (carpet, wall laying down), moss balls, tied to driftwood/rocks, etc.
The flaming moss looks cool with it all "flamed" up as a ground cover. And the Xmas moss wall is gonna look great once it all fills in. I've seen other moss walls done with Taiwan moss and I personally think the Xmas makes for a better wall while the Taiwan works better tied to driftwood. Guess it's all a personal ascetics preference.
What are the plans for these mosses (going to let them take over the tank, groom and prune til the look just right, or make walls and features with them)?

Hi again friends. Thanks for all the compliments. I use no ferts in my tanks and each tank receives an 8 hour photoperiod under 10000K compact flourescent lights. I use RO water in all my tanks. I started growing mosses four years ago and still today am looking for different mosses because they have so many patterns. My shrimp love the moss and can be seen grazing all over it at times. I do have shrimp for sale from time to time so you have to watch for those post with plants as well. Again, thanks.

Those guys put the red cherries to shame.
I too am a fan of moss but only have java and flame, flame being my favorite. You can't see it very well but the wood in the center has lots of flame moss and a little bit of java moss on the left side. The other piece of wood to the left of it is covered with java moss and fern that has been established on it for over two years now. I don't think I could kill it if I tried.
I also have lots and lots of moss in my cherry shrimp tank and they do treat it like a buffett constantly sifting through it for some munchies.

Great looking moss and shrimp. Do you use strictly RO water? Have you had good results with your shrimp reproducing in RO water?

I recently started using RO water due to continous problems with the ph which most of my shrimp collection, again most prefer a lower ph. I do think that since I began using one...my problems stopped and even my neons, cardinals and others seem to thrive now.

I like your moss pictures. Makes me want to try some in my tank.
Mosses and ferns are my favorite plants. I love tying them to different types of wood. Flame moss is by far my fav.
