I have been reading about different fry food, well all around live food and microworms sound easier than brine shrimp. Anyone raise microworms? I want to try, please let me hear some input:)

I raise Grindal worms. I think they are easier than microworms because of the mess involved with microworms. Both are easier than brine shrimp in my opinion. If you forget about the Grindals for a few months and let the culture completely dry up you can add water and they come back to life and are ready to harvest in less than a week.

what is the difficulty or mess with brine shrimp? Just curious. I had thought about growing some baby brine shrimp.
Thanks

My problem with brine shimp is finding eggs that will hatch and to get good eggs prices goes up and then they must be tended to. Read up on it.
I read on the grindal worms they sound interesting. But they are bigger do you have any problem with them being to big for fry?

Grindals are fine for fry that are about 1/4 inch or bigger. The worms themselves are about 1-2 millimeters long. Have you thought about vinegar eels? They are really easy to culture and harvest and are much smaller.

I just read about the eels very interesting. Have you cultured these too? I like with the grindals that you can forget about them for awhile :confuzeld: I have apistos and may try breeding bettas. Need live baby food.

No, I've never tried vinegar eels but I've heard good things about them. I've never needed live food that small before.
