I bought this aba aba knife fish over the weekend in Houston.Anybody ever had one?If so give me your input on anything that I need to know.He looks better in person than in the pictures. He is about 14 inches and his top fin is always rippling.I have not seen any aggression from him but my catfish was tore up a couple days after putting him in the tank so I think it was him that did it.Everybody else is doing ok thou.Just thought I would share this cool & unusual find.

I doubt it would ever get that big in an aquarium where we control how much it eats.

They get big but slow grower...they are mean and territorial. They're best kept as single species in a tank with no tankmates.

They will pick on tankmates as they get older and larger. Most of them will ignore bottom dwellers, but it's not always the case with every fish.
They will for sure pick on NON bottom dwellers.

They're also a jumper so keep a tight lid and cover overflow box.

I have had 2 of them in the past. The larger one was pushing 26" and it killed 2 of his tankmates which were bichirs..but mine didn't look as good as the ones on the internet
