I have Penguin BIO-Wheel 200 that I have been using for a while now. Tonight it decided that it wanted to pump the opposite way…. So all the water in the HOB is shot back into the tank…and it runs dry till I shut it off. I thought maybe it was just a one time thing so I tried to start it up and it takes forever to get a prime again and then runs for about 60 seconds and goes dry….

PITA

Not sure why, I pulled it apart and all seems to be fine….

Any ideas?

Reversed polarity on the motor would be my best guess...as to how that could hapen? no clue. Could have got wet

Really scratching my head on this one.

Thought about that...

I think a surge of electricity could do it but I think it would also fry the motor....

Is the plug a POLARIZED OR UNPOLARIZED? If Unpolarized try reversing the way you plug it in...just a thought.

Pretty sure it is unpolarized... it was working fine a few hours ago... just started this up on its own. I didn't change anything.

I will try flipping the plug....
