Petco has PondCare Melafix and Pimafix (both are 16 FL OZ bottle size) on clearance sale (nearly 50% off). I am wondering if they are the same as the freshwater version of Melafix and Pimafix. From the instructions, the pond version can treat more gallons of tank water.

Just watch for the dosage. Read the direction.

1000 gallon aquarium is the same as 1000 gallon pond :D
