So, I'm setting up another tiny planted tank. It will be open top and have a piece of driftwood that comes out of the top of the water. One thing I was wondering is if there were any plants someone might recommend that could grow rooted on the driftwood under water but would grow leaves, stems, etc. out of the water. Nothing monstrous. I guess the proper term is emersed or semi-aquatic.

most plants like swords, crypts, anubias, ferns can be grown emersed...

Hmmm... is there a trick to keep the leaves from drying out, or will they die off and then re-grow? Any time any of these plants gets above surface in my other tanks, the leaves wither.

From what i read they will regrow but at a slower rate.
