Got this guy for $10.He is 23 inches long and as big around as my arm.Very cool.

He is just a florida spotted gar but the biggest I have ever seen not in a lake(well maybe at bass pro shops).The picture does not do him justice on the size.My other gar is about 16 inches but only about the size of my thumb around.

I thought that's what he might have been, but I hadn't seen one that plump. Cool looking creatures. Makes one question whether dinosaurs are really extinct.

No they are not messy at all.In fact they are actually pretty peaceful and get along with other fish well.They are not very active until feeding time.
