:hehe: Updating everyone on my Keyhole cichilds, not that everyone was wondering, but I am just proud that I finally figured out what was wrong. Well it was more lucky trial and error, I am just glad they are okay. They were stressed, lethargic etc...thought it had something to do with water quailty- still may be a factor, but I did not notice that their behavior only got negative after the angel that they were housed with had died. So just for grins, I added my 2 female bettas from another tank into theirs and guess what...:wha: They immediatley came out from hiding and started swimming around, color returned to normal, still shy, but much improvement. I'm kicking myself for not thinking of that earlier. ..so there you have it.

I've got a lethargic Bolivian Ram- no clue what's up- he's just boring. Maybe that's the ticket- I need more fish for the tank. :D Excellent!! :spend:

I would try a female with him, maybe another pair Canh has had some nice looking ones for a few weeks now, starting to get some good color.

I thought it was female?! I need you to go pick the opposite of what I have- neither I nor Canh can sex them. But I'd take your word on it.

Yeah, I talked to Canh about that, from what I have read your best bet is to get 6-10 and wait for a pair to emerge.

Here is the typical answer:

"Males are usually stockier and have extensions on the upper and inner rays of the dorsal and caudal fins. The dorsal on the males is more pointed and elongated. "

Maybe Curtis or someone can enlighten us....

I also read somewhere that the temp in the water during spawning can change the male to female ration, Curtis said something about it on the Apistos and while looking at something on that I read it about these guys too, so a distributor could give mostly males or females making it harder to sex.

I thought it was female?! I need you to go pick the opposite of what I have- neither I nor Canh can sex them. But I'd take your word on it.

Megan would be pleased with another one.

I've read a few places where water temp and PH can effect the sex outcome.

I have no interest in 5-6 Bolivian rams...I'd almost rather get rid of the one I have...I'm not a big fan of rams...

But I certainly need some more apisto's for that tank. Especially since Megan is goin out of town.

CURTIS- whatcha got for me? I never did get a hold of that dude that lives in Carrollton...
