I have two male Dwarf Gouramis, but can't get them to stay still long enough for a photo op.
(here's a "stock" photo until I can get mine to smile)

That's the "Male Dwarf Gourami".
Here's Paradise Gourami (Macropodus opercularis)

Pretty colors. Like the reds and blues. I'm hoping to get some from Joey once I feel comfortable adding fish to my tank. Meds in, fingers crossed!

Awww you take the same pics as I do!!! We must have the same camera!

:D, yeah my main problem is, there's an almost 2 second delay between the time I push the button and when the camera actually takes the picture. By then the fish have moved (grrrrr).
That'll be fixed real soon ;)
In the mean time:

I got some better shots when I surprised them and turn the lights back on after lights out (while getting pictures of the flowers)

put it on sport burst, or macro setting if you have that feature

I have the "burst", but they come out a blurry streak. Kinna cool looking if that's what you were trying for, but you can't tell at all what kinna fish it is.
(of course it's my wife's camera and I know zilch about it)
I'm thinking a new camera ;), ;) with a shorter shutter time (i think that's what it's called) will help a ton.

Very nice!!! (nice photography skills, too)
See, yours is more blue while mine look more red. I wonder if it's the way the light is hitting 'em, taking the picture from front to back as apposed to back to front, or just color variations?

Mine has a lot less red. I think it is just color variations.
A couple things help me with the pics of him.
1. He moves pretty slow and likes to sit
2. A lot of light in the tank (more then last time you were here)
With extra light in the tank it makes pictures easier (Shutter, ap etc…)
I got a few good pics of him and my Chocalate and the Sparkling Gourami

Thanks for the advice. I'll pump up the lighting next time I try to take pictures. I dunno what I can do about them staying still (try to get a shot of them while eating, or just after, or turn on the lights late at night when they least expect it (but then you always get that "bed hair" arggg.)
