View Full Version : My 55 Gal Tank progress..

I decided to do something a little different... :D

I am into horror, halloween, and gothic stuff so anyway I thought I would add a little to my tank. I need to change the gravel to another color either black and white or just do the pool filter sand option and some black stones. I would like to find a black background for the tank but where do I get that? Like a craft store or something?

Anyway.. here are a few pics so far. We have a skull with a fake plant inside, 2 grave stones, and a Medusa head. :D

paint it black or see if you can find a background at petco i have seen it in black there what are you going to do with the background that is on it now i like it and need a background for a 55 gallon :D

Well..... if I can find me something black to put back there I guess I could give this one to you. ;)
It has another side also that has blue and fish on it ect..
When I find something I will let you know. :)

Yea that would be cool.. if I can find one. I may just do the same as the other side with the skull and green fake plants. I also bought a bag of tiny skulls about the size of a quarter, but because they are plastic they just float to the top. lol..
Its getting close to Halloween time so stores will put stuff out soon and I will have more to choose from.

Whats on the reverse side of that background? They usually have 2 sides.

Go to Hobby Lobby and get some black material. It's an easy change if you want to do something different later.

I have used this stuff before on smaller tanks. It is a little pricey, but I think it looks better than the background stuff you can buy at Petsmart:

i did exactly what tsunderl said
because its cheaper and you can remove it real easy

i also used posterboards for my smaller tank
i bought them at the dollar store for 1 $

Anyone local have some Cichlids for sale? I went to my pet store the other day but she said it will be another 2 weeks till she gets them in, and I want some now. lol.. :D

I live in Greenville so.. like one of the surrounding towns? Commerce, Quinlan, Terral, Rockwall, Sulphur Springs, ect... Thanks!:)
