Yes, that's a XXXX XXXXXXX. Picked the lil guy up on Saturday at the Pet Boutique. Also picked up two roselines.

The new guy is eating well, although the smaller of the other two is giving him hell. Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a couple more this week. Unfortunately, one of the 3 original discus died. He wouldn't eat, I tried every kind of food I could get my hands on and garlic to entice him. But, it didn't help. I feel terrible that a fish starved to death in one of my tanks!

i want some different colors and my tank isnt big enough for more. if i had room for another tank to put them in i would keep them....i had 8 in a 55g.

Sorry to rain on your parade Bigbadwolfy but that discus is stunted...yeah it's a pretty blue color...but look at the eye/body ratio. However, to the common eye, I suppose it looks good. Post that fish on Simply or DAAH and ask for a rating...I'd be curious to hear what kind of responses that you get.

and feel free to get back to me with a link to the evaluation thread.

Boutique pet shop got in a new shipment of Stendker discus. A few came in a little rough but all look nice. They checked off on the poster the varieties- Cobalt, Red Turquoise, Brilliant Turquoise and Marlboro Red. They are a bit bigger than the last ones they had. They also have new price breaks. I just don't have any room.

as i already said i posted the bullethead just to say its the other one i have for sale. a 7.9 for me is good, they are the first 8 discus i have ever had. did minimal feedings and water changes and still scored a 7.9. if i ever decide i have anything to prove fishwise ill put a little more effort into it. i said what i said because of the smarta$$ post a link to the rating comment. if i thought that fish was worthy of being rated, i would have had it rated.
I am very new to discus but from being on simply i know whats desired in a discus, some people like me just have them as pets for right now:). If it wasnt for the 5 other tanks i have in my house 3 being salt, i may try to get some show quality discus. at this point thats not what i want.

Well I'm still a little lost as to why you feel the need upstage everyone by posting and boasting about your "award winning one minute/just pet the next" discus on every thread where someone posts a picture of their discus. It would be one thing if your postings and boastings were relevant and/or deserving, but they usually aren't.

It shows an arrogance which frankly, I do not think that you are deserving of.

Ohhhh Boy! I will have to agree that we "Discus Snobs" are in a league of our own....but it's actually not a snob thing. It's called "I have f*&^%* put in my time, money, killed my share of fish, AND after 7+ years, I finally, sort of, kinda, can help someone else not make the same mistakes that I have made.

That doesn't mean that I will start posting pictures on every discus thread stating that...my discus are better than yours and I'm "Mr. I go to no effort...(nanner, nanner) whatso f*&%$$& ever to take care of them" dude...they pretty much raised themselves, and now I'm selling them for some un-godly amount...look at me...listen to me!

I will be the first to admit that I don't know squat about other tropical fish and I will rely heavily on the rest of you for that (special note to Cindy and the frog/vivarium thingy)....however, I will preach, to whatever choir will listen, about discus because they have such a bad wrap. People think that they are so hard to keep, but they really aren't if you are willing to do what you need to do, to make their environment healthy. I will bend over backwards to help anyone that's willing to give it a try and I don't need to be-little anybody (except know-it-all jerks) in the process.

Sorry for sounding so Pi$$y but I can't help myself...as Brandy said "it's the woman in us"...LOL
