can you get the tank in black trim also?

Rift2Reef
08-13-2009, 10:28 AM
Yes I can but the stand will still be pine.

drag13honda

The stand being pine is certainly fine by me. I just prefer the black trim tanks.

Edit: I assume there is tax on top of the listed price?

Is this deal still going on? Unfortunately it'll probably be the end of October/beginning of November before i'm completely ready. I'd still love to get this set up though.

It's still going on. Probably will for a long time. In the new store we will have even better deals!!

Interesting. When will you be moving into the new store? I want to see it as soon as you guys get in it. I might just wait til the new store to pick it up.

Will the new store affect the price of the 240 we have been talking about? Or will that remain the same?

anything on 60x24x20?...

Rift2Reef
09-30-2009, 03:57 PM
Chris probably not in that ballpark but i'll get a quote and do the best that I can on it.

The 60x18x20 is a loss leader type of tank that Oceanview makes. I'll put a call in and see what kind of price I can give anyways.

These 100 gallons they make aren't much more than the 75 gallons. I guess they get the best use out of the sheets of glass building these so they are able to price them very aggressively.

Just so everyone knows Deep Sea Aquatics bought out Oceanview and is now building all of the tanks.

What that means is you are going to get a lower priced tank that's just as good as far as quality goes as the more expensive setups. It uses thinner glass but the silicone work and all that will be much better than Oceanview was before.

drag13honda

I actually heard that a few days ago. The way i heard it was they bought out oceanview but weren't producing their tanks anymore, they were just killing off the competition. There is a chance that was the wrong info though.

That's inaccurate.

They are still going to build Oceanview. They bought Oceanview in order to get better discounts when buying glass in order to make Deep Sea Aquatics more affordable.

The new label on Oceanview tanks says "born in Mississippi, made in Texas"

They have no plans on stopping production on Oceanview aquariums.

They are much nicer now than they were before also.

Good info. I actually found out today they were still making them. I wasn't trying to say you were wrong or anything. I was just fact checking what i heard. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

We'll be talking soon. :)

Now that i have settled into a new job I actually have the money to spend on new tanks. I need to get a 40 breeder before i get the 100 though. I'll be back with you within a month or two. I still want mine in black trim. :p:

I bought a tank exactly like that one for $400 8 years ago, but it came with a canopy too. Still a very nice deal.....*sigh* I miss that tank sooooo much.:(

All things considered inflation and all $400 for this tank is a better deal now than 8 years ago with a canopy. You paid too much ;)

Hongnot I plan on having this deal as long as the price I pay doesn't change.

I bought it new from an LFS so I expected there to be some markup.
