View Full Version : BN babies in lily pond
Too many of the newest batch of BN babies are going into the overflow for the built in wet/dry in my acrylic tank. So after gathering up 10 of them from the filter pad I put them into a 300 gallon lily pond outside. No other fish are currently in it, so the only other concern would be dragonfly larvae eating the babies.
How big do you think the BN fry will be by early October when I go to catch them if they survive? They are barely 1/2" right now.

I'd imagine they'd grow incredibly fast out there. Not sure what type of water changes but most fish i've played with in pods i've gotten double the growth that I did in aquariums.
Do an experiment I am sure they will be alot bigger than siblings you leave in an aquarium.

I bet they will do great!
I saw one near the top yesterday but didn't notice that it had gotten any larger. Hope I will be able to find them before the water gets too cold for them this fall.

My experience has been similar to Rift2Reef. Fish tend to grow much larger outdoors. I think it's the constant food source available to them.
