This big guy is a mystery to me! He is very territorial and very aggresive, but he is also very beautiful! loves to pick up rocks and move them out of his way with his mouth. Maybe a Geophagus? He is getting too big for my tank... so he will have to find a new home soon :-(
Thanks!
Nicaraguense- I have a tank full of them. I wouldn't call them aggressive at all. He's a New World cichlid- so your PH is probably too high for him with that crushed coral and limestone.

Holey rock is limestone
Limestone= Holey rock. ;)
:eek: Lord no! I'm not kiddin, I have a tank of 50 and I just took 50 to the Fish Gallery this morning! I'm trying to get out of the Niko business so my bristle nose will start breeding.
what size tank is that? I had a mature pair in a 50g and they were perfectly sized for it. That looks like a "he" to me.

its a 75 gallon but he likes to attack my other fish and it doesnt look like he plans to stop growing anytime soon
get another- are the other fish smaller? What's your local fish shop? they should give you $5-10 in credit for a good sized one. I'll give you a pair of small (2") that can grow up with whatcha got. They really are pretty. I like em.

mmm My tank is full- my only option is probably to trade him in.. Keller Farms.. ever been?
Yea, I've been a time or two- but not enough to know what they'll value it at. The good news is he's a good size- I'd presume you'll get a few dollars for him.

Actually-
Those come from areas with high pH and water that is fairly hard (Lake Nicaragua) so the water conditions are probably fine for them.

1/3 is about average for trade in value...
